Cape Agulhas

Eck-o Breeze Accommodation

Situated nearly three hours from Cape Town and stretching east from the seaside town of Struisbaai and almost west to Pearly Beach, windswept Agulhas National Park offers the most panoramic views. Agulhas National Park is located at Cape Agulhas and encompasses the southernmost tip of the African Continent and the surrounding coastal plain and interior. The park’s most renowned feature is the official meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. The result is a coastline of tremendous richness and diversity.

This beautiful park is also an ancient cultural- and natural- heritage site that dates back thousand of years.

In addition to this unique natural phenomenon, visitors can also see the second oldest operational lighthouse in South Africa. The Cape Agulhas Lighthouse and Museum was built to aid early explorers. This key coastal building even houses a lighthouse museum that is apparently worth a visit.

Beyond this, there is also wonderful hiking, shipwreck sightings, birdwatching, fishing, accommodation and much more to unearth here.

The Cape Agulhas Lighthouse features a fascinating lighthouse museum that you can visit - currently under renovation until 2023.

The lighthouse has been a national monument since 1973. This shows just how important this beacon is to the local coastline.

Is the third oldest lighthouse in SA and second oldest lighthouse still in operation.
The lighthouse is so well-loved that, when it was deemed ‘unsafe’ due to structural safety issues, the local council and community took over its upkeep.
Due to safety concerns, it was in disuse from 1968-1988. On 25 March 1988, it reopened after a vital restoration.
