Mindset • Food & Nutrition • Exercise

“If you’ve got stinking thinking, you need a check-up from the neck up"… A famous quote by Zig Ziglar.
Most of the time when we hear read, or think about having a healthy body, we mainly think of the physical appearance of our physical body. In truth it is more than just about the physical appearance. But even if you did know that it is the case and you want to live a healthy life do you know where to start?
Let me introduce my 3-Step System to have a healthy body and live a healthy life.
The first step is your Mindset, the way that you think.
It plays the biggest role in how you live your life. Your thoughts create your emotions, and the fact is that you can choose what you want your life to be like. It is a good, strong mindset that helps you to manage your emotional state to deal with what life throws at you. Think for a minute: What do you focus on throughout your day? Do you focus on the positive or on the negative?
The second step is Food & Nutrition.
What do you feed your body? Did you know that the rate of mental illness is on the rise, this is an alarming fact? But surprisingly enough, studies have shown what dramatic role nutrition plays in our mental health and that optimizing nutrition is a safe and viable way to avoid, treat, or lessen mental illness. A diet that mainly consists of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and healthy fats is recommended. Unfortunately, because of some farming practices, some cooking methods, and living in a 'fast food' world, science has also proven that we do not get all the necessary nutrients in our diets and that we need to supplement. Be careful of the mental hijackers on your food plate.
Refined carbs, foods and drinks loaded with sugar and deep frying, are on the top of the list.
The third step is Exercise.
Exercise is not a word I am very fond of using. I rather prefer the words 'moving your body'. We know that exercise is good for the body, but did you know that it is almost vital for a healthy brain?
Think of it as lawn fertilizer for your brain and grease for your joints. Any type of movement will do.
30 Minutes 3 times per week will be just fine. Let’s look at a few benefits of implementing some movement into your lifestyle:
- It improves mood,
- beneficial for a healthy immune system,
- improves bone density,
- tones muscles,
- improves blood flow, etc.
