Betty's Bay is not exactly your go-to business hub, but rather a stunning coastal escape that is perfect for catching up on some relaxation. However, although you might be cut off from the daily nuances of a more established town there are still enough shops to get what you need.
Most of the shops and businesses are grouped together in two locations in Betty's Bay. The one group of shops can be found on entering the coastal town from Kleinmond's side close to John the Potter's Gallery. One of the most abundant businesses in Betty's Bay is real estate. Betty's is well known as a holiday-maker's destination because of its supreme natural setting where people can be charmed by mountain, ocean and sand dunes. The village stretches along the coast for 13km with many houses dotting the space in between. The real estate agents will be able to help you with short-term holiday rentals, long-term rentals and investment. Besides the large number of real estate agents you can also find a hardware store, an auto glass shop, DVD store, security services, a superette and a marketing agency that specialises in graphic design, digital marketing and branding.
The next collection of businesses can be found at the Caltex petrol station where tourists turnoff to head towards Stony Point. There is a creative space that serves as a gallery, gift shop and hosts creative workshops for anyone with a keen eye and imagination. Here one can also find a cafe that also serves as a DVD store and sand-board rental shop. Behind the Caltex is the Village Centre that boasts a deli, coffee shop, laundry service, a small décor shop and another real estate office. A few other small businesses can be found here and there but mostly Betty's Bay consists of widely dispersed homes and holiday houses that make up most of the raw beauty and tranquility of the area.
All other businesses and amenities can be found 14km away in Kleinmond. Here you will find the larger businesses, doctors, dentists, large grocery stores and so on. Luckily for the locals and visitors alike the drive between the two towns is short and mesmerising. En route to get the necessities you can attempt to spot the well-known elephant shape that locals love to point out on the rocky pass over the Palmiet River. There is something incredibly special and revitalising about being so removed from the everyday world whilst still having everything you need only 15 minutes away.
