The Garden Restaurant at Harold Porter National Botanical Garden reopened in 2023 after being closed for many years. It is managed by Louisa Swartz, Micaella Wood, and Zade Wood, who also own Ocean Fisheries in Kleinmond.
Louisa, Micaella, and Zade are passionate about hospitality and specialise in traditional home cooking at The Garden Restaurant. Their love of flavours is the heart of every dish, and the trio creates dishes that celebrate the authentic tastes of home.
Their commitment to quality and hospitality shines through, making every visit to the restaurant a memorable culinary experience.
Louisa Swartz is a local who has always lived in the Kleinmond and Betty’s Bay area.
Louisa’s love for cooking was inherited from her highly decorated chef-mom. In 1995 she started her first restaurant with her husband, then in 2010, the couple opened Ocean Fisheries which has been featured on TV programs like Mooiloop, Die Weg and De Kat TV. From humble beginnings, Louisa has become a well-known cook.
Micaella and Zade Wood married in Harold Porter National Botanical Garden so the venue holds a special place in their heart.
Their love for food goes far beyond cooking lovely dishes, their love of food reflects how they feel about each other.
When they aren’t helping to create happy memories at The Garden Restaurant, they will most likely be home, creating delicious meals and spending quality time at the family dinner table.
