Now in it's 14th year running!

The Botrivier Challenge, now in its 14th year running, is the only community-run event in the country. It is spearheaded by the non-voluntary organisation, Botriver Education Foundation - an initiative which aims to raise funds to afford underprivileged adolescents the opportunity of a tertiary education.

Event Details

The event opens with the ever-popular five-kilometre night run or walk, a race which attracts over 1000 walkers and runners each year. Bring your neon lighting and have fun!

If the nighttime festivities don't appeal to you, then kick start your day with an early morning trail run. The 15-kilometre route is a nice challenge for the fitter of folk while the gentler five-kilometre race is suitable for the unfit. Not only will you be getting a little bit of exercise, but you'll see some spectacular sights along the way. If you prefer walking, you can choose between a 21-kilometre, 10km or a 5km walk/run.

For the cyclists, there are 15-kilometer, 40-kilometer and 55-kilometer mountain bike routes. The 40-kilometre race has been a highlight in previous years, with few inclines and boasts beautiful scenery.

All participants will be well catered for, with a number of water stations to replenish one's thirst along the way. There will also be a hub of festivity with good food, music and fun.
