Things to Do Places to Eat

De Hoop Vlei MTB and Trail Run Experience is on the calendar for 26-28 May 2023.

The weekend provides a whole new concept with a brand new 12km trail run/walk on Saturday 27 May.

The new Trail Run/hike is added to De Hoop Vlei Experience to make sure the whole family is entertained in the weekend's activities. The trail will be included in the MTB leg on Sunday as well, as part of the Signature routes, and is a stunning technical route along the edges of the Ramsar Vlei.

The MTB event is tweaked so that Saturday's ride wiĺl be a long day including 63km from the Opstal at De Hoop to Potberg and Vaalkraens, with 850m elevation.

Sunday's ride, 28 May will provide for 40km and 500m of elevation on De Hoop Nature Reserve, and include all the signature and new single track routes De Hoop has on offer.

3 Days of Mountain Bike Riding:

  • Friday afternoon Sunset Scramble 26 May 2023 starting at 4pm
  • Stage 1: Saturday 27 May: 62km, 750m elevation
  • Stage 2: Sunday 28 May: 38km, 500m elevation

De Hoop Vlei ONE (1) Day MTB option on Saturday 27 May

  • (Short Non-technical route):
  • Distance: 28km, 300m elevation
  • Entry Fee: R600

De Hoop Vlei Trail Run: 

  • Saturday 27 May, DIstance 12km
  • Entry fee: R300
  • Registration at De Hoop Collection on Friday: 14h00-19h00
