Barend Haasbroek, the owner of DRS Autoworx, started motor racing at a very young age and by the time he was 19, he was racing professionally.
An accountant by trade, Barend received his BA in Accounting at the London College of International Business Studies in 2015. He practised in Bela-Bela until he relocated to Bredasdorp in 2018 in the Waterberg District of the Limpopo Province.
After the move, Barend realised that his career as an accountant was not self-sustaining, and to generate an extra income, he would service his friends' cars. Word about his expertise spread like wildfire, and within a year, he expanded his “backyard” services to something permanent.
DRS Autoworx was born, and Barend moved into a spacious workshop, hiring experienced mechanics to assist him.
When he is not in the workshop (which he prefers above any other place on the planet), you can find Barend dominating the oval track, racing and making headlines. His well-known 2004 Subaru goes by “Ironical Car” and is a mascot in the industry.
Barend is passionate about community, and DRS Autoworx is actively involved in fundraising incentives to help empower those in need.
