Butchery owner, Johan van Zyl who hails from De Doorns in the Hex River Valley, is a qualified food technologist.
After completing his studies. Johan worked in the meat industry where he gained vast product knowledge and invaluable hands-on experience in his trade. When Elim Butchery went on the market the van Zyl’s immediately took over the reins from the previous owner.
The popular butchery is one of the oldest in the area and has continued from strength to strength since Johan stepped up to the butcher's block in 2014.
