About

About

Khula Learning Centre was the dream of two teachers who share a passion for children, horses and strong coffee.

Realising the need for individually tailored, small-group educational support options, Hilde Reeders and Jeanine Roux decided to turn their dream into a brick-and-mortar learning centre reality.

Hilde and Jeanine strive to create a supportive, safe and fun learning centre for children with individual learning needs. Coupled with this is the support system that provides parents of learners with the necessary assistance to help their children succeed academically.

At Khula Learning Centre, the staff believe with the right nurturing, every child can grow to reach their full potential. They hope to plant and nurture the seed accordingly so that children grow into happy, fulfilled Khula kids.

Impaq Online School System

Khula uses Impaq Online School’s products and services. Impaq is a CAPS-based curriculum that provides an academic framework, allowing each learner to work at their own pace. This curriculum is especially effective for learners who need more intensive academic support.

The learning centre makes provision for all learners, including those who experience learning barriers related to:

  • Apraxia
  • Dyslexia
  • ADD / ADHD
  • Developmental Delays
  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Low Support Autism

Madelaine Pretorius - Gr R Tutor

“In my late thirties, I lost my eyesight and moved to Worcester to be able to have the best eye operations. After I regained my sight, I aimed to help others with disabilities. For ten years, I worked in the community as a carer for grown-ups and as a teacher for children with intellectual challenges. There was also much training provided by doctors and psychologists at Alexander Hospital. At Khula, I am part of the Grade R class. To be greeted every morning with a big smile on everyone's face means so much to me. I never give up until I have reached my goal.”

Reviews

“We couldn't have made a better choice than Khula Learning Centre! We had even considered relocating before enrolling our daughter in Khula, and now we are here to stay! Our daughter is happy. All the problems that were too big for mainstream schools to handle seemed to melt away as the Khula team handled and dealt with them perfectly. They have experienced teachers and small group classes.”  Dayna Bottinger
Soos hulle sê: Once a Khula kid, always a Khula kid.”  Desere Ludik
“What Khula Learning Centre has done for my daughter is create emotional and physical stability. Within the first week, she did a total 180-degree turnaround. What I saw and experienced was a happy, confident and well-rounded child. I have had nothing but good experiences with this amazing centre. I couldn't have asked for better. I recommend Khula to anyone looking for a safe and happy place for their kids to flourish.”  Lara Wiegand
