Join the Nuwejaars Wetlands Special Management Area this holiday season for a guided wetlands safari, close to the Southernmost tip of Africa. 

Experience the thrill of seeing buffalo, hippo, bontebok and quagga that have been reintroduced into their natural environment after almost facing extinction. Make the most of magnificent photo opportunities in what can only be described as a birders paradise. The natural bird sanctuary is home to feathered beauties such as Blue cranes, Denham’s bustard, Southern Black korhaan and Black harriers.

  • Time - 17:00 
  • Venue - meet at Black Oystercatcher Wine Farm
  • Duration - two hours
  • Includes - sundowners

One of the Overberg’s best-kept secrets is the Nuwejaars Wetlands Ecosystem which is now open to the public and ready to be explored by you! The Wildlife Guided Tours are hosted by the Nuwejaars Wetlands Special Management Area and are led by a trained guide.
