Wheatlands Lodge is a five-bedroom B&B located in the centre of Bredasdorp. The beautifully restored country house was built in 1913 and retains its old-world charm with wooden floors and vintage heirlooms. Some say the generous breakfast menu is reason enough to overnight at Wheatlands Lodge, and the B&B serves the morning meal in the communal dining room daily. Interesting shops and restaurants are within walking distance to Wheatlands Lodge and the surrounding countryside offers an exciting array of outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts. The tranquil back garden at Wheatlands Lodge has braai facilities so guests are invited to pack their picnic baskets and cooler boxes. Wheatlands Lodge sleeps 10 guests.

Wheatlands Lodge was built in 1913.

The building retains its old-world charm with wooden floors and vintage heirlooms used to furnish the interior. 



Wheatlands Lodge has five comfortable rooms that include:

Room One

Room One has a separate entrance. 

Two single beds can be joined to form a King-size bed. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, a basin and a toilet.

Rooms Two & Three

Rooms Two and Three each have two single beds that can be joined to form King-size beds. The ensuite bathrooms have a shower, basin and toilet.

Room Four

Room Four has two single beds that can be joined to form a King-size bed. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, a basin and a toilet. There is an interleading door to Room Five if a family suite is required. 

Room Five

Room Five is the largest of all the bedrooms and has a lovely private patio in the beautiful garden. 

There is a King-size bed and the ensuite bathroom has a corner bath, a shower, a basin and a toilet. 

An interleading door to Room Four can be used if a family suite is required.

The rates at Wheatlands Lodge are as follows:

  • R1,400 for two people sharing per night (includes breakfast)
  • R850 single person per night (includes breakfast)


  • Over the age of 12 - pay full price
  • Six to 12 years of age - pay half price
  • Under the age of six - no charge
Cancellation Policy
  • Less than 14 days forfeit the full deposit
  • From 14 to 21 days forfeit 50% of the deposit
  • From 21 to 28 days forfeit 25% of the deposit
  • The full deposit will be forfeited for cancellations between 15 December and 5 January
  • No-shows will be charged the full accommodation amount

1. Bredasdorp Shipwreck Museum

Explore the Shipwreck Museum housed in the former Independent Church with additional museums in the churches’ parsonage and coach-house. Expect to discover treasures such as cannons, porcelain and coins. Added to this are fully-restored horse-drawn hearses and a vintage fire truck.

2. Nuwejaars Wetlands Special Management Area (Bredasdorp)
