Interesting shops and restaurants are in walking distance to Wheatlands Lodge and the surrounding countryside offers an exciting array of outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts. The tranquil back garden has braai facilities available so guests are invited to pack their picnic baskets and cooler boxes. Wheatlands Lodge sleeps a total of 10 people.

Things to Do

Things to Do

Wheatlands Lodge is the ideal base from which to explore the Suiderstrand and experience all it has to offer. Here are five things to do while in and around Bredasdorp:

Shipwreck Museum (Bredasdorp)

Explore the Shipwreck Museum that is housed in the former Independent Church with additional museums in the churches’ parsonage and coach-house. Expect to discover treasures such as cannons, porcelain and coins. Added to this are fully-restored horse-drawn hearses and a vintage fire truck.

Boat-Based Whale Watching (Struisbaai)

Reserve your seat and embark on a memorable boat-based whale watching experience with Cape Agulhas Whale Watching. The boat launches from the quaint Struisbaai fishing harbour during whale season.

Southernmost Tip of Africa (L'Agulhas)

Take a short drive to the southernmost tip of Africa and see if you can spot where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.

L’Agulhas Lighthouse (L’Agulhas)

Climb to the very top of L'Agulhas Lighthouse and experience a view of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans as you have never seen them before.

Bird Watching (De Mond Nature Reserve)

Reach for your binoculars and blend in with the bushes as you take a closer look at endangered feathered beauties such as Blue Cranes and Black Oystercatchers.

“Super familiar place, Janet and Donald are heartwarming hosts and have a lot of good information for their guests. The rooms are spacious, very clean and well-equipped. Breakfast is really good, one of the best I had on my journey. Although the place was just a stopover on my route, I really enjoyed the stay. I absolutely recommend it!” Anke, Germany

“Wonderful country style home. Beautiful wooden floors and furniture. Breakfast was exceptional and owners very helpful and friendly. Wish I knew of this place before.” Con, United Arab Emirates

“Perfect hosts, lovely couple, made us feel welcome from the time we arrived. The accommodation was very comfortable and the rooms were spacious and clean. We would definitely recommend this B&B, should be a 5-star establishment!” Shireen, South Africa
