De Uijlenes Venue offers a relaxed atmosphere and enchanting natural setting on a farm that is perfect for any and all weddings that include:

The Forest and Old Barn Package

The Forest and Old Barn await you in this enchanting woodland wedding setting that will get your heart fluttering as you enter through the gates and meander along the forest aisle. Exchange vows under the leaves of a giant oak tree in the heart of an indigenous forest that is surrounded by a sea of white arum lilies.

While you and your bridal party go off to have photos taken at any of the beautiful spots on the farm, your guests can relax in the shade of the forest picnic area. Here they can sample craft beer on tap and bubbly, and tuck into a harvest table laden with freshly baked bread, cold meat, cheeses and preserves.

The wedding celebration takes place in the Old Barn, a rustic 19th-century farm building that has been refurbished and fitted with several fireplaces, a cigar lounge and a large dining area with rustic wooden tables and chairs, and an outdoor fire-pit. Old Barn is a cosy haven, perfect for winter celebrations. Added to these features is a small dining room in the barns original Melkkamer, in which you can have your family rehearsal dinner on Friday evening or a big farm breakfast on Sunday morning.

Guests can stay in one of the 20 basic, but comfortable, rooms at the Old Barn which are able to accommodate up to 75 people in total.

If you decide to say your ‘I do’s’ at De Uijlenes, the team will add a few camera friendly farm animals to the staff list as part of the package.

The Forest and Old Barn Accommodation at De Uijlenes Venue offer rustic rooms that are close enough for guests to crawl into bed in the wee hours of the morning. 

Ensuite Rooms

There are six ensuite rooms that can each sleep, four people. 

Basic Rooms

There are eight basic rooms that sleep four people in each room. These rooms all share communal bathrooms.

Dorm Rooms

There are six dorm rooms which are fondly known as 'The Res'. The dorm rooms all have single beds. Five of the rooms sleep three people and the sixth room sleeps five.

Accommodation at The Forest and Old Barn at De Uiljenes is for wedding guests only. 

The Nightjar Package

The Nightjar venue is suited to smaller, more intimate and alternative weddings.

The open-air ‘koffieklip’ chapel is perfectly situated next to a waterfall and overlooks the dam and the fynbos covered mountains. This magical setting serves as the perfect place to say your ‘I do’s’. Beers and ciders are kept on ice and a large harvest table laden with freshly baked bread, cold meats, cheeses and preserves await under the shade of a giant tree. Guests can relax on the lawn, cool off in the dam, fish or play garden games as the sun sets beneath the fynbos covered mountains.

The party will then move into the log cabin reception venue which was built using materials largely sourced from the farm or valley. You and your guests can dance the night away or make yourselves comfortable around the fire overlooking the dam, and talk until the sun comes up. With a large roaring fire both inside and out, the Nightjar venue is perfectly cosy for a winter wedding. Your guests will be delighted by the friendly farm animals that are part of the package.

Guests can spend two night in the simple farmstead and stable rooms that can accommodate  50 people.

The Nightjar Accommodation

The Nightjar Accommodation has extras such a private dam and a braai area. This is Die Uijlenes’ original thatched farmhouse and has seven bedrooms, one dorm and a loft. There is a large entertainment hall and a fully-fitted self-catering kitchen.

Accommodation at The Nightjar House at De Uiljenes is for wedding guests only.

Extra Accommodation

(sleeps 60)

The Nonnetjie Uil Huis is a large guest house on the farm and can be reserved as additional accommodation for guests attending a wedding at The Forest and Old Barn, or at The Nightjar venue. The self-catering house has a large open-plan kitchen and dining area with an indoor braai that leads out onto the stoep. There is an outdoor braai area overlooking a private dam.

There are four bedrooms and two big dorms.
