Dibanisa Ends Off With A Camp!

Dibanisa Ends Off With A Camp!

Grootbos Foundation

Last Friday, we set off for our Dibanisa Camp which was held at Fynbos Retreat. When we got there, the boys chose rooms and once they were done, they had lunch and set off for a game of soccer and to relax on the banks of the dam.

Next up, was an arts and crafts activity.  The boys each got a recycled tin, onto which they painted an animal.  Although no great works of art, they did have fun!

The boys played around, while the adults prepared for supper.  Susan braaied chicken and sausage, while the rest of us made potato salad and fruit salad.  After supper, the boys joined Susan for a presentation on animals that live in the Fynbos.  They learnt more about the various snakes, scorpions, and mammals that live in the Fynbos.  The creature they were most impressed with, however, was the field mouse!!! After dessert, it was time to get ready for bed!

On Saturday, we started off with breakfast.  And then got ready to go on a hike.  This however was cut short when we could not find the path into the milkwood forest.  We had a game of soccer instead!

The boys then completed their completed their camp evaluations after which they had lunch!

We packed up and got ready to go! Thanks to Susan, Mzianda and our volunteers Felix, Adrianna and Jule for all of their help!
