About

Kingsview Guesthouse is located in De Kelders, which is a five-minute drive from Gansbaai and 30 minutes from Hermanus.

The collection of holiday units is owned by GiGi and Mike, a couple with a longstanding connection to the Overberg and a shared passion for travel, the sea and creating memorable experiences for their guests.

GiGi is well known in South Africa as a former exotic dancer, actress, entrepreneur and television personality. She is the former owner of the Lollipop Lounge in Randburg, was crowned Penthouse Pet of the Year in 1997, and won Survivor South Africa: Santa Carolina, Mozambique in 2010.

Her connection to De Kelders began in her matric year, when she worked as a waitress at the old hotel above the Drip Cave. Captivated by the view of the rocky cliffs and turquoise waters of Walker Bay, she dreamed of living there, saying, “One day I will live on these cliffs.” Today, the Kingsview Guesthouse collection is the realisation of that dream.

Mike was raised in Bezvalley, Johannesburg. He first met GiGi at a club in Rivonia, where he was head of security. The couple have been inseparable ever since.

Both GiGi and Mike are also Master Distillers, creating South African heritage spirits in small, award-winning batches. Guests can sample their Fynbos Distillery products, which are gifted as welcome drinks.

GiGi and Mike invite guests to experience the beauty of the Overberg, the warmth of their hospitality and the simple pleasure of waking up beside the sea.

“Kingsview Guesthouse’s location is absolutely prime. It is one street away from the ocean and offers the most spectacular view. The accommodation is close to a drip cave, Walker Bay Nature Reserve and Stanfords Cove. Our place was beautifully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen, high-quality bedding, a braai with a grid, and free wi-fi. A special thanks to the owners for our welcome gift! We got three miniature bottles of hand-distilled liqueur along with a pairing menu. Absolutely lovely!”  Yolande
