The Southern Right Whales come to breed and play in Pearly Beach every year. They usually arrive during June and stay until December. They come to the bay that The Ark B&B overlooks, and they can be seen just 50 metres from the shore.
Purpose-built seating, with brilliant vantage points, are positioned just around the corner from us for prime viewing.
If you ask Mr Noah nicely, he might even take you up to the whale deck at The Ark, where you will have a panoramic view of the whole bay from Quoin Point in one direction and Danger Point in the other, and of course you'll get to see the whales too.
If you want to get really close to these huge, incredibly gentle creatures, ask us to arrange a boat-based viewing trip for you. It will be an experience you will never forget, and you'll get some great photos. It's a very worthwhile trip, especially as you may even see dolphins as well.
