The owners of Whale Huys Oceanfront Eco Villa are passionate about the planet, and the life that lives on it. With this said, eco-friendliness is more than just a catchphrase and the villa has sustainable features.
Sustainable Features
Each bedroom at Whale Huys Oceanfront Eco Villa has a private balcony. Enjoy panoramic views of Walker Bay, and the surrounding mountain ranges, that extend to Hangklip and further on to Cape Point on a clear day.
A private path to the ocean winds its way through the fynbos vegetation that is indigenous to the Western Cape. There is a walking trail that extends from one end of Gansbaai to the pristine beaches of the Walker Bay Nature Conservancy near Hermanus.
Main Level
The spacious open-plan living, dining and kitchen area can be found on the Main Level of Whale Huys Oceanfront Eco Villa. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with the high-end appliances and kitchen accessories you will need to create sumptuous meals.
The main bedroom has an extra-long king-sized bed (which can also be made up as two extra-long singles) and an ensuite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, a double basin and a separate toilet.
Pool Level
The Pool Level is one flight down from the Main Level and offers an infinity swimming pool, an outdoor shower and both indoor and outdoor entertainment areas. There is a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and the home's laundry room is located on this level.
Upper Level
There are three bedrooms located on the Upper Level.
Two of the bedrooms have extra long single beds (90x200) that can also be made up as an extra long king bed (180x200) along with ensuite bathrooms with a shower, basin and toilet. The third bedroom has a standard double bed with an ensuite bathroom with a bath, shower, basin and toilet.

When you are not relaxing at Whale Huys Oceanfront Eco Villa, there are plenty of things to do to keep you busy in the Overstrand area.
The coastline from De Kelders to Pearly Beach offers a combination of long stretches of sandy beaches, hidden cliff pools, coves with picnic areas and a lagoon resort. The Atlantic Ocean is home to the marine big five which includes whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and penguins. Whether you want to go whale watching or shark cage diving Whale Huys Oceanfront Eco Villa is just a short drive away from launch sites for boat-based whale watching and shark cage diving.
There is a beautiful 9-hole golf course, nestled between blankets of indigenous fynbos and the ocean in Kleinbaai which is just a ten-minute drive away. The course has a links-style layout with stunning sea views from most of the fairways. Prepare to tee off, here.
The is an abundance of restaurants in De Kelders, Gansbaai, Kleinbaai, Baardskeerderbos and Pearly Beach with menus to suit just about any tastebud. “We stayed with our two children girls for four nights. The area is beautiful with big impressive houses along the waterfront. We spotted whales from the house and walking trails almost every day. We also saw a glimpse of dolphins once. The view from the house is absolutely fantastic! We used the pool every day and relaxed on the pool deck. As many have already written it is indeed a lovely house, but for us… to be quite candid… it was all about the glorious, simply stupendous views over Walker Bay. Sweeping! Stunning! Awe-inspiring! WOW! This is a big house suited to a family or (possibly even better) a group of friends. All the bedrooms have wonderful views and are equally attractive in terms of furnishings, fittings and en-suite facilities. So there shouldn´t be any arguments about who gets the best room. The master suite has a larger balcony and is conveniently located at entry-level and the hub of the house. The owner was great to deal with… very quick to respond to any questions and very helpful. “Whale Huys Oceanfront Eco Villa is an incredible place to stay! It is in a beautiful location with a magnificent view of Walker Bay. The home is both luxurious and relaxing all at once. We saw Southern Right Whales breaching the water multiple times and seals playing in the waves. We loved the area which is dotted with vineyards and Fynbos landscapes. We spent a great day exploring historic Elim. Dinner at Farm 215 was truly lovely with home-prepared gourmet food! Our stay was a highlight of our Cape Town visit from the United States.” Gerry
