Welcome

The name, Xairu, is the word the San people used to describe this region. It very appropriately means "paradise."
 
A neomodernist architectural gem, Xairu offers luxury, self-catering accommodation for the discerning holiday maker. Anchored on the limestone cliffs of Walker Bay, Xairu provides panoramic views over the annual birthing ground of the Southern Right whale. Its unique site frames views of the Kleinrivier mountain range and three promonitories including Cape Hangklip and the Cape of Good Hope.

Xairu is a place to relax. Unwind, unplug and contemplate life from the vantage point of one of the many decks and balconies. Your most demanding activity of the day will be to decide how to while away the hours. Watch whales from the house? Take a walk and head left through the endemic fynbos flora on the cliff path to take a dip in the tidal pool? Or go right and enjoy the protected beach and waters of Standford Cove. If adrenaline is more your style, Xairu is well situated for planning a Great White Shark cage dive.
 
This self-catering sanctuary lies on the road less travelled, a 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Cape Town.

The three-bedroomed accommodation features:
 

• A spacious, en suite master suite with king-sized bed, a large walk-in closet and private balcony. Master bathroom has a bath, separate shower and his and hers sinks.
• A second bedroom with king-size bed convertible to two full-sized single beds, closet and private balcony
• A separate bathroom with shower
• A third bedroom with a queen-sized bed, closet, en suite half bathroom and private balcony
• Luxury bed linens and towels are provided
• Independent, wall-mounted in-room heating in each bedroom ensures a cosy, winter night's sleep

The diningroom seats eight and opens seamlessly onto a large wooden deck on ground level. The open plan kitchen features granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A gas hob and electric oven provide the full range of cooking options. The space is wonderfully cosy on a winter's day with the wood burning, cast iron stove.
 
Upstairs, large, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors blur the boundaries between indoors and out for maxmimum enjoyment of the large living area. This space features window seats, vaulted ceilings and both an extended balcony and a western deck for perfect sunset moments. A second, wood burning fireplace makes it a space to savour in all seasons.
