All about Chardonnay

Saturday, 12 October 2019 will see Chardonnay aficionados flock to The Elgin Valley for the fourth annual Elgin Chardonnay Colloquium. South Hill Vineyard’s wine cellar, lined with wine barrels, makes a fitting venue to explore all things Chardonnay and to discover why Elgin Chardonnays are so coveted.

A panel of four highly revered wine experts will look at Chardonnay trends around the world and guide guests through Elgin’s elegant Chardonnays created in the valley’s unique cool climate.

Tickets: R1,250 per person (include all wine tastings, drinks, meals and snacks).

More About Elgin Chardonnay Colloquium

The Chardonnay Colloquium forms part of the Elgin Blossom Weekend which promises plenty of activities around the valley for all ages.

Producers will showcase their 2017 vintage at a morning tasting, and the afternoon will comprise a blind tasting of Elgin Chardonnays, chosen by a select panel, pitted against top Chardonnays from around the world.

In addition to the incredible Chardonnays, there will be bubbly, welcome drinks, gourmet snacks, a harvest table lunch prepared by South Hill Vineyards. The ticket also includes drinks and eats at the close of the day, offering time for guests to relax and chat with fellow Chardonnay lovers, producers and the panel.

Whether Chardonnay is a passion or a curiosity, the Chardonnay Colloquium is the perfect opportunity to discover what makes Elgin Chardonnay so distinct and much sought after around the world.
