Many have said, “You live in the most beautiful part of South Africa – the Western Cape.” A quick 45 minute drive from Cape Town direction Hermanus, we are situated near Grabouw (home to the Steenbras Dam) in the breathtaking Elgin Valley – part of the Hottentots Holland and Groenland Nature Reserve in the heart of the Kogelberg Biosphere, a world heritage site.
Surrounded by fynbos, picturesque fruit orchards (which supply producers like Appletiser and TruCape), olive groves and cool climate vineyards, we are quickly and easily accessible from the N2 highway just after the scenic Sir Lowry’s Pass. We are located outside the centre of town Grabouw – near the historical Elgin Post office and Elgin Train Station, yet still near to popular attractions and eateries such as The Orchard Farm Stall, Peregrine Farm Stall, The Hickory Shack, Fred & Max and Wimpy, but to name a few.

There is so much to see and do in the Elgin Valley! The Elgin Grabouw Country Club offers extreme adventure activities including local 4×4 routes up to Hanskop, mountain biking trails, off-road quad biking and even taking part in the annual ABSA Cape Epic and/or MTB Wines2Wales races. And for the very adventurous type there is the thrilling local Cape Canopy Tours! Just remember to bring warm clothes as the Cape weather can be unpredictable, especially in the mountains. To the more gentle pursuits of hiking, bass fishing at Eikenhof Dam, wine tasting at Almenkerk and enjoying live music shows at the Paul Cluver amphitheatre, where you’ll get to see South African music artists like Karen Zoid, The Parlotones and Elvis Blue perform live!
