21km, 10km & 5km
We have hired buses to take the 21km and 10km runners from Fruitways (registration and finish) to the start at the top of Nuweberg Forest.
We will have a vehicle at the start line that can take odd pieces of clothing (not bags) back to Fruitways for you but please make sure that it is marked with your name and remember to collect at the finish line. All clothing left behind will be donated to charity.
If you are doing the 21km or 10km, there is no parking for vehicles at the start (Nuweberg). You need to park at Fruitways.
Race numbers, coffee, snacks and ablutions are all at Fruitways. Buses will depart from Fruitways from 7h00.
Entries are limited to 500 so there is a chance that there will not be entries left on the day, enter now to avoid disappointment
21km
Altitude Gain: 379m Altitude drop: 593m
This may be the most beautiful route of the series. It starts high up in the Nuweberg forest, close to Cape Canopy Tours’ brand new adventure centre. The first 5km meanders through the scenic pine forest and past the picturesque Nuweberg Dam. Once across the tar road, the scenery changes as runners get to explore the trails below Groenlandberg. The views are spectacular along this stretch, which is where you drop most of the altitude. Runners will pass through the event centre at Fruitways at the 10km mark. You will then cross the odd stream or two as you make your way along the single track and forestry roads that lead you around the spectacular Eikenhof Dam and to the finish at Fruitways.
Most of this land is private property and cannot be accessed outside of the Green Forest Run.
10km
Altitude Gain: 191m Altitude drop: 409m This may be the most beautiful route of the series. You will arrive at the finish, adjacent to the spectacular Eikenhof Dam before you realise it. The scenery is so pretty that many of you will wish that you had entered the 21km.
Most of this land is private property and cannot be accessed outside of the Green Forest Run.
5km
This Fun Run is recommended for families and runners that are new to trail running. There are prizes for the top finishers, so for those that want to go for it, there is a chance to walk away with a prize from one of our generous sponsors! This is a pretty route with very little altitude gain. Runners/walkers will make their way through a stream, get a chance to stretch their legs on gravel roads through the forest and orchards and still get back in time to cheer on the 10km and 21km runners as they come in to the finish. We are happy for children to bring their bikes and to ride next to their parents but be warned, there may be some portage involved.
There will be no timing on this route. We have not created a route profile for the 5km. Trust us, it’s flat. There will be prizes for the first 3 males and first 3 females.
Join us at Fruitways for food, drinks, prize giving and a great vibe after the race. Please note that this is not a circular route, the start and end are in different places. People that are doing the 21km and 10km should park at Fruitways and we will have shuttles transporting competitors to the start.
