Come and bring along friends and enjoy the entertainment!
Die Plaaskombuis lays nestled in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley on the Lötter family-farm named Vrede (which translated into English from Afrikaans means, ‘peace’). Nita and Jadri Lötter took ownership of Vrede from Jadri’s father, Bernardus, in 1978. Nita had always dreamt of owning her own farmstall and together with her husband began working towards realising it. Using an old blue classic 1963, Chevrolet Truck, Jadri would drive their harvest of vegetables to the market in Cape Town.
Today, the farm is home to Die Plaaskombuis which has become a ‘farmstall’ destination for all those who love farm-style cooking, fine wines, fresh country produce and home-baked goods. Coupled with this is the opportunity to host your next function at the farm.
And, if you were perhaps wondering, the much-loved Chevy is still in use on the farm and puts in a full-days’ work, just like all the other farm vehicles do.
The Lötter Family invite you to join them for good old-fashioned hospitality in a picturesque setting.
Die Plaaskombuis is all about wholesome meals prepared with fresh locally grown and produced ingredients. Expect a mouth-watering selection of breakfast dishes, wraps, burgers, sandwiches, salads and generous portions of traditional South African fare. For the little ones a kiddies’ menu featuring all the favourite is available. Sweet temptations include freshly baked desserts, homemade cakes and ‘lekker pannekoek’.
Added to this is a special Sunday lunch menu not to be missed.

“Dis presies wat dit moet wees. Voel of ek in my Ouma se kombuis op die plaas in gestap het. Die ruimte, liefde en kos in oorvloed. Dankie vir die terug-dink-ervaring. Ons karoo kinders het dit gelove.” Andrea, Facebook
“Absolutely fantastic! We arrived utterly starving on Saturday and were met with warm smiles, great service and an outstanding menu. The traditional lamb curry was heavenly (served with pumpkin pie, green beans, rice and creamed spinach), and the bunny chow (with chicken curry, sambals, poppadums and banana) was truly delicious. Takeaway cappuccinos were the cherry-on-top of a great meal. Excellent value for money!” Linda, Facebook
“A great place for families with kids.” Alida, Facebook
“Die lekkerste kerrie afval ge-eet by die Plaaskombuis. Mooi uitsig op die berg, lekker plek vir kinders om te speel. Sal die plek beslis aanbeveel.” Hester, Facebook
“The Plaaskombuis breakfast was scrumptious and came with bacon, mushrooms, eggs, the best sausage and fresh bread like my Ouma use to make.” Vallina, Facebook
