This small, but special, nursery started in the 80s as an annual Easter plant sale at which members of the Hermanus Botanical Society contributed indigenous plants nurtured in their own gardens for the year and took them back again if unsold.
Then, as now, the aim was to introduce gardeners to the joys of "growing indigenous", particularly for the coastal area of Hermanus with its wild winds and poor soil.
It has succeeded beyond all expectations, as customers come from far and near to visit and buy and chat about their gardens.
Varieties of plants for sale at competitive prices range from protea, erica and restio families to clivias and ground covers.
