NEW OVERBERG ART IN THE PARK

Overberg ART IN THE PARK will be open each 1st Sunday on the month.

Opening after a break of a few years, new Overberg ART IN THE PARK will be held in the well-loved, and well-known site of the Country Market which operates every Saturday near the High School in Hermanus.  ART IN THE PARK will share the same wonderful site but will be open on the First Sunday of every month.

Whether you are in London; United States; Canada other countries or in South Africa, the Overberg is set to join this international group with their exciting new ART IN THE PARK.  It will showcase the work of local artists from the Overberg who have been busy painting both before and after and during lockdown and will now for the first time share their work at ART IN THE PARK.

This is a perfect opportunity for artists to exhibit paintings, and for buyers to buy future investment or decorative paintings cost effectively in lovely surroundings and where they can enjoy both tea, coffees, cold drinks and easy eating meals.  All will be available.  The Country Market consists of covered stalls, so no matter the weather, artists can show their work without the fear of paintings being damaged.  Visitors can walk around comfortably between the many stalls.

This will happen the First Sunday of every month.  There are all sorts of exciting ideas that will grow ART IN THE PARK in the future; children’s opportunity to paint and to showcase their work; and specialty weekends each month showcasing something different and exciting.

This is an opportunity that can be enjoyed by both locals to the Overberg, and our many weekend visitors.  So, let us all support this exciting effort.

If you wish to participate or want to know more about the new vibrant ART IN THE PARK, the person to contact is Gilly Shreeve at 082 878 9558 or gillyshreeve@netactive.co.za.

Hermanus Art Circle (HAC) Brings Art to You in Challenging Times

Due to the uncertainty regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to share and update you on the steps we are taking to still bring art to our customers. We would have had our First Friday Art Walk in April and May and FynArts exhibition in June, but all have been cancelled.

Hermanus Art Circle members are working as always from their home studios but cannot share their beautiful art with our usual fans and customers because of lock-down measures.

We now undertake to introduce you to our artists and their work by means of our Hermanus Art Circle Facebook Page. We are comfortable and confident that we can serve our artists and customers successfully this way.

To help us to continue to sell art during these times, it would be appreciated if you could like our Facebook Page and share it with all your contacts. In so doing you can ensure we are serving collectors and our artists as best we can.

We know many of you are personally affected by this crisis. The world needs art more than ever, so in the meantime, we are encouraging all our friends and customers to continue supporting our artists.

Know that our Executive Team are here for you and are ready to assist with any enquiries by means of our Facebook page or at hermanusartcircle1@gmail.com .

We are so grateful for each of you who support and like us.

Stay safe and well!

History of Hermanus Art Circle (HAC) from 2019

HAC BACKGROUND INFORMATION 2019

The Hermanus Art Circle (HAC) originated from the Vermont Art Circle in 2003 which expanded with numerous members from all over the Overberg, calling for a more inclusive name, the Hermanus Art Circle.

HAC currently exhibits every first Friday of the month in the Auditorium next to the Whale Museum and participating in FynArts during June.  During December HAC support local charities by producing A5 paintings to be sold at A Night of a Thousand Drawings @ R100 each.

HAC proudly offers the public excellent artwork from various artists in the area at most reasonable prices.

History of Hermanus Art Circle (HAC) Est 2003

Hermanus Art Circle:

Looking back over 16 years since its inception:

""The VERMONT  Art Circle was initiated by Leonie van Loggerenberg and Sue Erasmus, together with a few artists from Vermont and Onrus. In 2003  they started exhibiting in their privately owned "The Farmyard Art Gallery and Framers", with two Bid-n-Buy art sales annually.

The VAC established a respectable art circle with a firm Code of Ethics and proper Constitution resulting in artworks of a very high standard.

We arranged and attended regular workshops and demos by well known artists, visits to neighbouring art shows and galleries and artists studios, doing plein air painting when weather allowed.

After "The Farmyard"closed down, we had exhibitions at various wine cellars, the Old Station building, Hornbill, Kalfiefees, Food n Wine Fairs, and some local restaurants. Come what may, we never closed down!!

For a brief period, between 2011 and 2012, we occupied the smallest gallery in town, the "Little Gallery"in the East Cliff shopping centre.

Since 2013 the VAC exhibited as a pop-up gallery in the PicknPay Centre and the Village Square.

Since its inception, the VAC has expanded and had now numerous members from all over the Overberg, calling for a more inclusive name, which we then changed to The Hermanus Art Circle. (HAC)

The HAC currently exhibits every first week-end of the month in the Annex to the Whale Museum, participating also in "FynArts".

The HAC proudly offers the public excellent artwork from various artists in the area at most reasonable prices.
