This month’s Hermanus Comedy Club on Sunday, 23 October promises to have you laughing out loud with hilarious sets from popular Cape Town based comedians Gino Fernandez, Dalin Oliver and Nkosinathi Maki.
“There has been a gigantic surge in comedy in South Africa and we’re producing phenomenal talent who are enjoying great success locally and abroad. I’m so thrilled to still be a part of it after more than thirty years,” says Hermanus local and internationally renowned comedian Barry Hilton who hosts the monthly comedy club.
Comics choice award nominee Gino Fernandez is one of the country’s most exciting and bankable comedians. He is well known for crowd play and enthralling audience engagement which results in side splitting laughter. He takes audiences on a roller coaster ride of top class material and sharp wit. Gino is a regular at comedy shows around the country and is looking forward to an epic night of comedy in Hermanus.
The evening’s headline act, Dalin Oliver, is a Cape Town based comedian and the sports presenter on Good Hope FM’s breakfast show. He captures audiences with his clean cut energetic brand of comedy and has shared the stage with the biggest names in SA comedy. Dalin’s one man shows around the country are sold out successes met with rave reviews. He played a lead role in his first feature film this year, has featured on Comedy Central and recently recorded his first DVD special.
A relative newcomer to the comedy scene is Nathi (Nkosinathi Maki). He performs regularly in Cape Town as well as further afield. Nathi runs Nathi Comedy nights which have been aired on Cape TV and his latest weekly show is called “#Pay Back the funny”.
Tickets (R100) for this evening of riotous laughter. There will be no door sales. Seating is unreserved. Easy-eating meals and a full bar will be on offer.
