A group of local residents is putting together a coffee table book about Betty’s Bay. The book will be around 400 pages and will include photographs, maps, aerial views, and botanical drawings.
It will cover a wide range of topics, including:
• The history and geography of the area
• Local wildlife and plant life
• Nature reserves and scenic walks
• The Harold Porter Botanical Garden
• The old whaling station and shipwrecks
• Stories of early families and community life
• Voices from across different parts of town
• Highlights like the penguin colony, Marine Protected Area, and
• Art Route
The team is asking residents to share stories, memories, and photos that reflect life in Betty’s Bay.
Contributions are due by Friday, 23 May 2025.
The book will be bilingual, with some sections in Afrikaans.
