Born in the Eastern Cape, Siya left school in Grade 11 and moved to Zwelihle, Hermanus in search of work oppotunities. From a early age Siya had a passion for cooking and therefore started a TakeAway from the municipal building he rented. He renovated the building and his business did really well. Then in 2018 during the Hermanus Riots his business was burnt, he lost everything. At that stage he was attending the Grootbos Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme. Here he was selected to be one of the businesses to receive seed funding which meant he could re-start his business.
He now is a proud owner of a mobile takeaway on the busy streets of Zwelihle. It has been quite the journey but there is no stopping this passionate entrepreneur who is wanting to franchise already.
