We are delighted that Mike Allsopp will be back to give an update on how honey bees are faring globally and in South Africa.
Mike studied at Wits and later at the University of Pretoria. He has been working with honeybees for 35 years. He started the honeybee section of the Agricultural Research Council in 1990 in the Stellenbosch, and has been there ever since. Mike has performed the function of the entire bee section since 2001. Mike’s work spans all aspects related to honeybees – regulations, basic apiculture, forage, pests & diseases, pollination, development of beekeeping - and talking to us. We are privileged that he is including this talk in his many commitments.
