The Village NEWS was established in 2015.

In 2017, The Village News was honoured with the prestigious title of Best Independent Newspaper in the country by the Forum of Community Journalists (FCJ). Since then, the publication's journalists, columnists, and photographers have continued to receive accolades from the FCJ, further validating the quality of its work.
