Over two fun-filled Tuesdays -you’ll sew an elegant, ultra-functional carry bag with 18 pockets, plus clear vinyl bags on swivel hooks to keep your smaller essentials neatly organized. With enough space for fabric, a mini iron, and thread spools, this bag is a must-have for every sewist! This workshop is perfect for confident beginners to advanced sewists, and we’ll guide you through every step of the process.

Programme

Monday, 17 March during business hours

  • Pop in to collect your pattern and start cutting.

Tuesday, 18 March (9am to 3pm)

  • Cutting your fabric
  • Marking and prepping pockets
  • Sewing the pockets

Tuesday, 25 March (9am to 3pm)

  • Assembling the bag
  • Attaching binding
  • Finishing touches

There will be a little homework between sessions.

Lunch

We’ve discontinued our tuckshop service, but you can bring your own lunch or order from local restaurants. We’ll have menus available to help you choose! 

Coffee and tea will be available free of charge.

What do I need to bring with?
  • Your sewing machine
  • Basic sewing kit
  • 2m exterior fabric (outside fabric)
  • 80cm fabric for interior pockets
  • 1.5 m Interfacing of your choice
  • 15 cm plastic vinyl
  • 1.5 m bias binding (will be explained in class)
  • 50 cm elastic band
  • 2.15 m webbing ( or other straps for handles)
  • Open ended zips:
    – 2x 30cm
    – 1x 15cm
    – 1x 20cm
    – 1x 30cm

NOTE: There will be no kit available for this course.
