Hangklip art Studios started some years ago as the Pringle Bay art route, in 2022 this evolved into the Hangklip Art Collective and the membership was expanded to include Rooiels, Pringle Bay and Betty's Bay. The first meeting took place at a local coffee shop with about 8 people attending and from there the idea blossomed into the first exhibition in April 2022. Since then we have grown to over 25 members and held 5 successful exhibitions at the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens. As we are again evolving we have changed the group's name to Hangklip Art Studios as we want to promote the group as well as the individual. We now support and promote artists from Rooiels, Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. Hangklip Art Studios' vision is to create opportunities for artists to participate in exhibitions, have their work in galleries in our area as well as host open studios and workshops from time to time. Our artists include painters, ceramists, sculptures and wood turners.
The current team who administrate the group are:
Ian Maritz - Chairman
Lee-Ann McCleland - Treasurer
Rachel-Ane Smit - Secretary
Thea Burger - Marketing
