“If our hopes of building a better and safer world are to become more than wishful thinking, we will need the engagement of volunteers more than ever.” Kofi Annan
Kidscan! works closely with the Western Cape Government, Help2Read and After School Game Changer.
Each day a group of children between the ages of six and 11 from the rural communities of Kleinmond, Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay and Hangklip, attend Kidscan!
After enjoying a wholesome and nourishing lunch, children are assisted with their homework tasks by a team of dedicated staff members and volunteers.
Kidscan! is made up of a team of proactive and caring community members who believe in making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children.
Kidscan! Learning Centres provide supervised areas where students can concentrate on the day’s homework tasks and have fun with friends.
Kidscan! Is a successful, financially sustainable project that raises a portion of its running costs at charity shops in Pringle Bay and Kleinmond.
Kidscan! supports the environment and the community, and is proud to use mostly recycled paper bags and as little plastic as possible.
KidsCan! strives to be a sustainable project and the team has various fundraising initiatives.
Wish #1 - To own the house next door to the present location on 10th Avenue will mean having more classroom space for more children.
Wish #2 - To own the two adjacent plots to develop into a sports field
Wish #3 - To build three or four garages on the property to generate a rental income from small businesses.
All donations welcome (pre-loved and new)
The more people get involved, the more can be done to ensure a brighter today and tomorrow for the precious children who attend this initiative.
Remember, every helping hand (and rand) counts!
