Every last Sunday of the month Hackers meet on the pavement opposite Drosters Centre, in Central Avenue, for a monthly hack.
The aim of the Hack is to rid the Kogelberg of alien invasive plant species. We work in close cooperation with Cape Nature and the Overstrand Municipality. The operation of the hack groups is executed strictly according to all relevant Acts of which the “Care of Agricultural Resources Act (CARA)” and “National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act (NEMBA)” are the most prominent.
Every capable person is more than welcome to join and assist the hack, that includes any adult and child, irrespective of visitors or permanent residents. The necessary hack equipment and herbicide are provided at each hack.
