Casa Cello was started by Jose at Stanford Hills Wine Estate in 2024.
Jose was drawn to the kitchen from an early age, where he eagerly helped his mother with every meal she prepared. The kitchen became his playground, and food became his passion. He found joy in the sizzle of a pan, the aroma of fresh herbs, and the simple pleasure of sharing a meal with loved ones.
Jose’s love for food is deeply passionate, a fire kindled by those early experiences with his mom and further fueled by his mother-in-law, who inspired him to embrace culinary traditions and create dishes that tell a story. Her influence taught him that food is an expression of love, culture, and history, and this understanding continues to shape his approach in the kitchen.
Today, Jose’s culinary creations celebrate his heritage and the lessons learned from the remarkable women in his life.

Casa Cello offers more than just a seated dining experience. Warm hospitality extends onto the lawn, where guests can enjoy a leisurely al fresco picnic.
Whether it’s a romantic picnic for two or a group gathering, Jose prepares custom picnic baskets filled with delicious, carefully curated treats, and of course, wine!
Guests are served on the lush lawn beside the pond, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for the whole family.
For added comfort, bring blankets and even a pillow or three to spread on the grass so you can really get comfy.
The estate lawn also features a children’s park, giving little ones space to run, play, and explore while remaining within easy view.

Casa Cello is set on the picturesque Stanford Hills Estate, a historic wine farm with roots dating back generations.
Surrounded by rolling vineyards and natural beauty, it offers visitors a relaxed and inviting setting to enjoy exceptional food, estate wines, and the charm of country living.
The estate produces a curated collection of award-winning wines, including sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, rosé, pinotage, shiraz, and selected house blends, perfect for pairing with any meal.
The estate shop offers a variety of country delights, including Stanford Hills wine, craft beer, artisanal gin, deli-style products and unique gifts.
Self-catering accommodation on the farm includes the immaculately preserved Manor House, two refurbished labourers’ cottages, and eight fully-fitted AfriCamp tents.
Stanford Hills Estate is available for private functions and regularly hosts live music concerts and festivals, providing a vibrant backdrop for memorable experiences.

“We had breakfast at Casa Cello on a Sunday morning, and it was perfect. The menu prices are reasonable and the portions are large. The staff are friendly, and even though we were late, they still offered us breakfast. The resident pig and the two ridgeback dogs were in attendance. Our doggie was welcomed. Even on difficult days, like yesterday, when the power was off in the whole area, the kitchen managed to send us food of the quality we have come to expect.
