Mosaic Lagoon Lodge

“Through travelling, I have made the most amazing memories that will last a lifetime. In turn, I love creating moments for others to make lifetime memories of their own.” Maryke De Villiers, Owner
Mosaic Lagoon Lodge offers an exceptional luxury escape in Stanford, a historic village in the heart of the Overberg.
In 2002, Breese and Kathryn Johnson, originally from Tennessee, USA, purchased the 1,000-hectare property that would become Mosaic Lagoon Lodge. Although botanically and aesthetically pleasing, the land was overwhelmed with invasive vegetation.
The couple set out to restore its delicate ecosystem and protect its remarkable biodiversity. As they gradually restored the landscape, their dream of sharing the extraordinary setting with guests materialised.
And so, Mosaic Lagoon Lodge was born.
In 2019, Breese and Kathryn transferred ownership of the five-star private retreat to their long-time associate, Maryke De Villiers.
Today, Maryke proudly carries their legacy forward, offering guests an exceptional retreat where luxury, nature and a deep respect for the environment come together.
At Mosaic Lagoon Lodge, the experience extends beyond your accommodation.
Days unfold at an unhurried pace, with attentive service, exceptional dining, complete privacy and the natural beauty of the Overberg all part of the stay.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, explore the property, spend time in nature or simply relax and take in the surroundings.
Whether you fill your day with activities or decide to do very little at all, Mosaic offers space to experience the Overberg your way.
Dining at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is an experience from morning to evening.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in beautiful natural surroundings. Seasonal menus focus on fresh, carefully selected ingredients, with beautifully prepared dishes and attentive service throughout the day.
Mornings begin with a leisurely breakfast, while lunch is served in a relaxed setting as guests take in the surrounding landscape. As the day draws to a close, dinner brings a different atmosphere, with lanterns and candlelight adding magic to an evening beneath the stars.
From the first morning coffee to the last course at night, meals at Mosaic are an integral part of the stay.

When guests aren’t out exploring the area's activities or indulging in therapeutic spa treatments, the pool deck overlooking the Klein River is the perfect place to relax.
Whether you are in the mood for a dip in the heated plunge pool, want to do a little birdwatching, sip a refreshing cocktail or catch up on your reading with a good book, this is what country living is all about.

“The accommodation at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge really is a dream. If you love birds, you get your money's worth. In total, there are no more than ten guests on-site, which means very special service all-around.” Ralfleis
“We stumbled on Mosaic Lagoon Lodge a few years ago, and it’s the one place in the world we keep returning to. Five luxurious huts overlooking a lagoon. Very private and amazingly peaceful, sitting on the deck watching all the birds. The 4x4 ride to the beach was exciting. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. We will be back!” Rubyvirkenhead
“Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is a wonderful retreat away from the noise and rush of the 21st century. Its location in a milkwood forest on the edge of the Hermanus Lagoon is super-secluded, with wonderful views of the Klein River Mountains. The staff are incredibly welcoming, and the rooms are spotless. The food is excellent. Opportunities to explore the Walker Bay Nature Reserve on foot, or by MTB and 4x4, are outstanding.” Z73322
