Stanford Animal Welfare Society is a non-profit organisation that works closely with local volunteers who offer their services at no charge. SAWS offer a safe haven for lost, underprivileged, abandoned and abused animals in Stanford and the surrounding area and also provides shelter for animals hoping to be adopted. There is also a service providing pet sterilisation, dipping and deworming at a reduced price.

Stanford Animal Welfare Society is a proactive non-profit organisation consisting mainly of volunteers who take care of underprivileged, abandoned and abused animals. Regular charity drives are held with favourites being the Nose to Tail, Music on the Lawn and active participation in the Stanford Sunset Market.

Welfare Shop

Stanford Animal Welfare Society has their own welfare shop that sells items generously donated by the public. Browse through their collection of clothing, shoes, books and CD’s as well as a collection of bric-a-brac and other interesting odds and ends. This shop is a bargain hunter's dream and regular visits to the store are a must do if you are in the area. The shop relies heavily on the public for new stock which is always something to think about when next you declutter and all donations are welcome no matter how big or small. The welfare shop is situated on the corner of Victoria and Bezuidenhout Street in Stanford and is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 10am and 12 noon.
