Artist Nicolette Ross has been a Stanford resident since 2012 and has drawn inspiration from many happy memories created in this charming village. This South African artist has had her works of mixed-medium art showcased as far afield as the United Kingdom, Scotland and New Zealand. Nicky’s creative journey began as a crafter in which she excelled with her floral arrangements. What followed was experimentation with creative decoupage in which she used different mediums that included wood, glass and fabric, after which this multi-talented artist moved on to canvas. After completing watercolour training classes with the much celebrated Barbi Vanderwalle, Nicky found her true passion and has become renowned for both her watercolours and mixed mediums. Her new passion is monoprinting where she now showcases her talents using very unusual mixed mediums which includes the use of leaves. Nicky’s originals can be viewed by appointment at Summerley Studio in Stanford.
