Join in the fun for an amazing weekend in Stanford. The Stanford River Festival is a fun, family oriented event taking place on the beautiful Klein Rivier in March!

Race entry is R120 and R60 for under 23. No charge for entry to food stalls. All funds raised go towards the Stanford Club Development Academy.

The Stanford River Festival

The Stanford River Festival is a fun, family oriented event taking place on the beautiful Klein Rivier in March! There is a 15km route for the long distance junkies, a 10km route for those who like it just right and if you are just getting your feet wet then 5km will be perfect for you!

All paddle boats are welcome! Racing kayaks, SUPs, fishing kayaks, surf-skis, sit-on-tops, human powered submarines, Indian canoes, Souf-Afrikan canoes - ANY canoes! If you're racing you'll want something fast but don't feel you need to be fast to come and have fun!

This year will feature a wooden boat regatta and a flotilla of hand crafted boats will be on display and on the water!

The event starts at the King Street grassy banks were a variety of food and drink stalls will be providing refreshments. Paddler will race - or meander - along the river toward the lagoon before turning at the appropriate distance and heading back toward the start.

Saturday, 2 March 2019:

Registration from 07h30 at the bottom of King Street

10h00 - Main event for the following categories:

  • K1 - 15km WCCU Presidents Trophy Race
  • 15km, 10km, 5km events for all comers
  • K1, K2, K3, SUPs, Surf-skis, Wooden canoes, Rowing boats, Sea Kayaks, Indian canoes - or anything!

12h00 - Guppy 2km

14h00 - Prize-giving, icluding Trophy for the "Best presented wooden boat"
