The Shiraz grapes are getting ripe very quickly and soon we will measure the sugar content.
Our 2019 Shiraz has aged in French Oak for almost two years. It has a deep red colour full-bodied with spice and red berries. Tasting at Welgesind is always presented by the winemaker and tasting directly from the barrel is sometimes done.
The bottling process is handled by only three farm workers and some friends and apart from the small bottling machine, everything is done by hand.
Usually hard work for the day but lots of fun!
We will be bottling our 2019 Welgesind Shiraz on Thursday 4 March 2021.
