Kathy and Geoff Morris of The Fox Restaurant & Pub welcome you to Napier. The Fox (as it is fondly referred to by the locals) has large picture windows overlooking the colourful main road of this historical village. Patrons have a choice between a laid-back restaurant with an indoor fireplace, an old English-style pub and a petit outdoor beer garden where you can dine al fresco or quite simply watch the world go by. Although The Fox specializes in seafood, the small but substantial menu also includes succulent steaks, delicious beef burgers and healthy salads to eat in or to take-away. There are two televisions so that you can watch your favourite sporting teams in action and there is live music in-season (or whenever the mood calls for it). The Fox Restaurant & Pub is perfect for small catered-for functions and there is ample parking at the back of the premises. The venue is wheelchair friendly and has seating for a total of 30 guests.

About

It all started way back In 2010 whilst on a relaxed drive to De Hoop Nature Reserve that took them through Napier. Kathy and Geoff instantly fell in love with the village and after a few years of dreaming about relocating, they finally took the plunge in 2016. They packed up, bought The Fox and traded city life for a more tranquil lifestyle in the country. After spending six months renovating the historical building, a new era of fox-fun was born and continues to grow from strength to strength.

Kathy is a keen gardener which can be seen in the cascades of plants and flowers that punctuate the property. Geoff used to have a pub at home and loved to entertain friends before they bought The Fox so is totally in his element at what is surely one of the Overberg’s most loved country restaurants and pubs. The couple is extremely warm-hearted and serious about giving people a good time.

Restaurant

The Fox has become known for down-to-earth small-town hospitality and because the restaurant is separate from the pub it is perfect for families with children.

Everything at the Fox Restaurant is freshly prepared using only quality produce that is sourced locally wherever possible. Lovers of all things fishy can feast on tasties such as Patagonian calamari tubes and strips, mussels and fresh hake. If red meat is what gets your mouth watering then tuck into a decent piece of steak or a homemade burger served with steakhouse fries. All the sauces at The Fox are homemade and salads are crisp and fresh.

A hearty roast is served every second Sunday of the month and includes roast meat of the day, seasonal vegetables, savoury rice, roast potatoes and a baked pudding. Due to popular demand booking for this lunch is essential.

Pub

The Fox Pub serves ice-cold beer on tap, your favourite local wines, malts and spirits as well as all those colourful shooters that get the party started!

If you were searching for Sugarman during the 1970’s and the 1980’s then this is a watering hole that you just can’t miss. Relax with new friends and old as you listen to your favourite old school rock and pop hits from a time when music still had a whole lot of soul.

Expect the unexpected with live music performances in the holiday season (or when the mood calls for it).
