September 2024 Pikkewyntjies / Penguinkidz Ne...
In this month's newsletter, we celebrate our remarkable alumni, including three former Pikkewyntjies kids.
Firstly, our Nativity Play on 28 November 2022 was a huge success.
Thank you so much to everyone who attended, making this a special night for our children.
Then it was the Graduation Ceremony during which we presented the Grade “R” children with their Certificates and caps.
Next was Father Christmas who visited our school
Thank you, Father Christmas - you did a wonderful job!
Once again, during 2022, our kids were spoilt by many kind people.
First was NOMAD TOURS who donated a school bag to each child containing a variety of toys, stationery and educational material. Thank you so much to Christina and her staff - this was really a big surprise... just look at these precious little faces.
Buying school clothes.
As usual, Pikkewyntjies gave each child R1000 towards their school clothes for Grade 1. Afterwards, we spoiled the children with fish and chips, as well as ice cream.
Prof Sias Grobler and his lovely wife visited the school.
They surprised the children with cupcakes, cold drinks and sweets. The staff was also thrilled when they were handed an envelope containing a monetary gift.
Susan Minne, who lives in the United States, visited the school.
Susan is one of our friends from the school and, whenever she is in South Africa, she always visits us. This year, she spoiled the children with a carload of educational toys, balls, and lots of stationery. A surprise gift was a brand-new pressure cooker for our kitchen. Thank you so much, Susan, you are very special to us.
Last, but not least, was our fun day.
This is usually the highlight of the year. As soon as the school year starts, the children ask me when I am going to set up the Slip ‘n Slide again. This goes hand in hand with a lovely picnic with sausage rolls, sweets, cold drinks and ice cream. What a wonderful day!
Then our pride and joy.
Every year, I always promise my ex-Pikkewyntjies that, at the end of the first few years of Primary School, I will give them R100 if they score all 7's on their report cards or R50 if they score one 6 and the rest 7’s.
Here are some photos of them receiving their money.
THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE WHO MADE THIS SEASON A VERY SPECIAL ONE FOR ALL OUR CHILDREN. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT THE IMPACT IS OF YOUR GOOD DEED.
