September 2024 Pikkewyntjies / Penguinkidz Ne...
In this month's newsletter, we celebrate our remarkable alumni, including three former Pikkewyntjies kids.
Pikkewyntjies, like every other organisation and business, has had to take care of the pennies to stay in the black in the last couple of years. Xplorio.com, based in Gansbaai, has gone out of its way to help Pikkewyntjies by featuring us on their network - without charging us for the service. This has exposed the work of the school and its goals to the wide audience of people Xplorio reaches.
We are very, very grateful for the exposure Xplorio gives our school by including articles about our children and our goals for them in their regular newsletters. We are delighted that people who read about the school’s work make donations to our second-hand shop to support us and sometimes visit the school to meet the Pikkewyne and the Pikkewyntjies in their charge.
Xplorio is also a handy tool if one is looking for a particular item in our area. It will direct you immediately to stockists of whatever it is you want to buy so you can contact them directly. After the transaction or non-transaction, it offers the opportunity to comment on the level of service you received which goes to the supplier and helps them improve their customer assistance. This, of course is to everyone’s advantage.
The service one gets from Xplorio itself is more than service because it’s more like a friendship and what they offer is support.
Everyone, for more than one reason, personally and professionally, is in a thick fog right now, I think. The school with its limited resources has to re-organise the entire school day to keep the children and teachers safe. Pikkewyntjies is just one of many teams trying to find a road that will carry us back to control of our goals.
It’s going to take teamwork which means sharing ideas and refining them, and it’s going to take mutual encouragement which means staying in touch.
We are very grateful to Xplorio for being so good to us in the past, but particularly in the present with their frequent messages doing just this.
It’s a little lift to see a message from Xplorio on my phone.
