Once upon a time three tiny houses were built using raw brick and lime. As tradition dictated, their poplar roof rafters were covered with thatching reed from the region.
Spending a few days at De Volkshuijs in Bredasdorp lately, we were again filled with nostalgia from days gone by. At first it was only a faint sound in the distance... rythmic, often fading away.
As the high pitches of a bell ringing got closer and clearer, the memory suddenly became a beautiful picture! The ice-cream man was there!
