Whale of Trail Run @ De Hoop

Merrell Whale of Trail 2025

Sat, 26/07/2025, 07H00 - 20H00

Merrell Whale of Trail 2025 is a premier trail running event at De Hoop Nature Reserve on 26 July 2025. Treat yourself to the reserve's stunning trails and race with top athletes vying for the big prize purse. Embrace all 53km and 1,900m of vert of South Africa’s iconic five-day Whale Trail Hiking Route in one tremendous effort. Alternatively, the 35km Trail Run Route starts and ends at the same magnificent places as the 53km. It begins with 15km of glorious mountain single track, merges onto a 7km jeep track to get to the 15km section of beach and coastal paths with ridiculously jaw-dropping vistas and plenty of time with the southern right whales. Yes, that’s closer to 37km than 35km, but what’s a couple of kms when you’re having fun! There’s more to the Merrell Whale of Trail than just running. Entrants will be treated to two dinners, lunch at the finish, a massage, wine tasting, a G&T, and a goody bag filled with treasures. Best of all, you can expect to spend time with wholesome people and experience all-around ethical sportsmanship at this big-hearted race.
