The Franschhoek Pass which connects Franschhoek and the towns of Grabouw and Villiersdorp will be closed between 8 am and 5 pm on weekdays.
Council unanimously appoints Municipal Manager Boy Manqoba Ngubo.
Today the Theewaterskloof Municipal Council appointed Mr Boy Manqoba Ngubo as Municipal Manager, for a maximum of five years not exceeding a period of one year after the election of a new council in terms of the Municipal Systems Act.
The vacancy was advertised nationally, and a total of 10 applications were received, after proper screening, candidates were invited to attend the evaluation and interview sessions that were held earlier this week.
At a sitting of the full Council today, 27 October 2022, Council resolved to appoint Mr Boy Manqoba Ngubo as Municipal Manager. The Executive Mayor Alderman Karel Papier and Speaker Derick Appel were among the first to congratulate Mr Ngubo and wished him well with his term of employment.
Mr Ngubo has been acting in the position since June 2022 and has 10 years of experience in leading both Private and State-Owned Companies. His track record of achieving long-term growth and implementing strategic and operational plans to achieve objectives, gives ALL of Council hope for the Theewaterskloof Municipality going forward.
While acting in the position of Municipal Manager, he has introduced the Accelerated Service Delivery programme aimed at addressing issues on the ground in each town and recently showed exemplary leadership when helping the administration navigate the recent water crisis in Caledon and devastating fires in Grabouw.
His business experience and success with strategic planning along with the great commitment he has shown towards improving the lives of all within the Theewaterskloof Municipal area, make him an asset.
