The biggest challenge for me was how to get the information 'out there' without spending a vast amount of money on a new website. Even better, I could have the Shell & Sea Life Museum on a page as well for no extra cost. My existing website could be linked to the Xplorio page. Xplorio has a professional approach and a beautiful website full of information about each town and activities and businesses. Another thing I liked about them is that we met with the team and could talk to a real person. The agents were very patient and helpful to get the pages uploaded. I can manage my own pages and change things if I need to. My recommendation wouldbe that if you need to get going, Xplorio is a good place to start.

Introduction
Our first impression of Xplorio was an introductory e-mail packed with magnificent photographs of Bredasdorp, the town where De Volkshuijs is located. Although these cottages are proud senior citizens of Bredasdorp, having National Monuments-badges as proof, they are relative newcomers to the tourist accommodation scene.
Getting Started
Xplorio took hands with De Volkshuijs in featuring the establishment on their page. Assistance was kindly provided in setting up a profile. The profile can easily be edited by the establishment itself and offers the possibility to add specials, blogs and even videos. It can be linked to social media, making the profile the ideal webpage at no extra cost. Enquiries can be made on the site or clients can use the details provided to contact De Volkshuijs directly for reservations, no commission charged.
Results
Having insight via “View your Performance” is an interesting tool, often used to apply trends.

I run a small nature hiking trail outside of Gansbaai, and although I have my own web page I have listed with Xplorio from the beginning, not really knowing what to expect.
Over the years I have found Xplorio to be a great platform to advertise my business, their ranking on search engines is unbeatable and for me to rank as high by myself on Google would take a great deal of money and effort.
The platform is well set up, with excellent response to communication with them. Their blog posts give businesses extra exposure and as a community, local information is relayed keeping people informed of local events.
Xplorio has always been set up in a way to encourage input to their site by means of photography, videos and blogs which increase your own ranking on the site, it’s a win win, what a good idea!
I have also had great exposure by paying a reasonable rate for extra advertising on their page which also increases one's rank.
I personally feel lucky to have these guys here, and recommend businesses of any size to register and provide as much information about their business as possible, after all it’s free!

Xplorio must be the best ‘secret’ I have to date had the pleasure of finding. It is the ‘absolute solution’ to expensive online presence for any small business – whether you knit baby clothes or are running a supermarket. It takes all the hassle out of being online.
Having a presence online is normally just an impossible dream for the small business owner. The cost of having a website built, besides trying to get it to be found by the search engines is mostly beyond such small businesses. Even just keeping a Facebook or blog page constantly active and finding ways of connecting with potential clients is mostly something we as small business owners simply are not cut out or trained for. It is hard enough to keep your business afloat.
Xplorio has covered all these problems in one easy solution for us. They have made it simple for anyone to create, very quickly and easily, not only a very active online presence but also offer the possibility of building an almost complete web presence. With its simple user friendly system you can have a ‘website’ with as many pages as you can imagine, create a blog and even upload your video material. They do all the hard stuff to get it out there, so you do not have to worry how it works. Plus your site is represented where it counts – within your area of business and also within an easy database on their site. I have found their staff very supportive and patient with my endless ‘stupid’ questions and their support in helping to get everything active.
Once you have listed it is now up to you to add blogs, which immediately appear on the front page of your area. You can do as many as you feel inclined without being curbed. Plus, if you already have a website you can link that too.
I was only online for about 3 days when I already had several enquiries and 3 bookings and that was when our area – Greyton – was not even fully operational yet. Now that is something that we all need.
My advice to anyone wanting to list with Xplorio? Stop worrying about it being free! There really are no catches – it is genuinely totally FREE!
How do they make their money, was my first question, being the skeptic that I am. It is your choice to pay for more intense presence within their site, which you will pay for, but really I have not found it necessary for what I do. I have been listed with them for almost a year now and have not had one single ‘sales mail’ from them trying to sell me more advertising. If you do decide to try their advertising offers, the prices are reasonable for what is being offered.
They know that their site works well and their ethics are the best. What more could one ask for!
