Blue is a local Kleinbaai resident who will be exhibiting her unique artworks created almost entirely from unaltered beach plastic found along our coast.
Creative rock art.
Belinda has been an art and design teacher for 21 years while continuing to paint in her spare time.
Her experience over the years has included mural painting, stage design and set painting for which she has received numerous awards.
"By being open to the differences existing between fine art and design, I allowed my experiences of both to flow together and found the result to be illustrations, some of which will be represented here."
MURG is the creative duo of the Aylward brothers.
They make stuff!
Linda Pretorius (nee Budde) is a self-taught artist from De Kelders. Linda's preferred medium is oils and draws her inspiration from the beautiful surrounds.
Turchia Africa has always had a passion for art.
She relocated to Pearly Beach from Cape Town and despite the challenges of the pandemic, it created an opportunity for her to re-light her passion and to start painting again.
Apart from acrylics, her work includes creating a variety of textured artworks.
Ingrid Zovitsky is a South African-born mixed-medium artist. She has spent the past 30 years developing her passion for art while teaching art classes to various age groups.
Ingrid Zovitsky spent 8 years overseas before returning home to South Africa. Her work was extremely well received in Europe as well as the U.S., selling paintings on a regular basis to various collectors and art lovers.
Ingrid has settled in De Kelders where she continues to paint and host children's art classes.
Hester Coetzee's voice of expression is in painting beautiful, elegant, timeless pieces.
She's worked with pencils, pens, pastels, acryls, watercolours, inks, oils, and fluid acrylics.
Her preferred medium, however, is oil.
The desire to add more spice to her life and the deep desire for even greater self-growth has transported her to her new environment Franskraal, the perfect setting for a soft, easy, tranquil, expansive life pursuing her passion for creating beautiful, elegant, timeless art.
More artists to come!
The "First Thursdays" concept started in Cape Town in 2012 and in Jozi in 2015, inspired by similar initiatives around the world.
The initiative is equally about access to the arts as it is about injecting life into our spaces.
Our concept is to provide local artists and musicians a platform to showcase their talents in a comfortable, casual environment, after hours.
Come show your support for the arts and celebrate our final First Thursdays until things warm up again.
Apart from our Thursday pizza special, we'll have a few amazing speciality "blackboard" options available and as always, we'll have the bartenders slinging cocktails and pouring a good few ridiculously cheap drink specials all night!
