First Thursdays: 4 August 2022 (Art, Music, Food and Wine)

Join us for our very own "First Thursdays" on 4 August 2022 at Afrikanos!

Time: 18:00 onwards

The First Thursdays concept started in Cape Town in 2012, and in Johannesburg in 2015. 

Inspired by similar initiatives in other cities around the world, the monthly event, taking place on the first Thursday of every month, is centered around a primary programme of art galleries and cultural attractions that are open to the public until late. 

The initiative is equally about access to the arts as it is about injecting life into our spaces. 

Our 'First Thursdays' initiative will be to provide local artists and musicians with a platform to showcase their talents in a comfortable and casual environment, after hours.

Lorraine van Wyk’s artistic style is contemporary portrait photography combined with impasto style paint on her human canvas. From a young age, she demonstrated a natural propensity for fine drawing and painting.

Ingrid Zovitsky

Ingrid Zovitsky is a South African-born mixed medium artist. She has spent the past 30 years developing her passion for art while teaching art classes to various age groups. 

Jan Kotze

Jan Kotze is a self-taught artist working with oils. Jan draws inspiration from those special moments that sticks in the mind's eye.
