
Anna’s Pies is owned by Tannie Anna Smal, a self-taught baker who mixed her first cake batter with a vintage egg-beater and baked it in an old-fashioned gas oven when she was still a child.
Tannie Anna went on to win the floating trophy for the best cake at the Vroue-Landbouvereniging van Kaapland twice. Over the years, her winning cakes (a melt-in-the-mouth vanilla cream and a wholesome carrot cake) have remained a firm favourite with her customers who travel from near and far.

At Anna’s Pies, every farm-style cake, cupcake and tart is baked the old-fashioned way, with recipes passed down from Tannie Anna’s late Ouma and plenty of homemade love.
