BARC is in need of extra kennels as the facilities currently are not sufficient. Everyday mistreated and strayed dogs arrive and the 14 kennels we have currently are just not enough. We are forced to put more than one dog in a kennel, which sometimes lead to confrontation and aggression. A lot of people cannot afford to care for their animal anymore and therefore hand them over to BARC.
Plans for the new kennels were drawn up by one of our local architects, Johan Gericke, and the building costs were calculated. The total building costs are an estimated R80,000. BARC has already raised R30,000 which means a shortfall of R50,000 (R5,000 per kennel). We are desperately looking for sponsors who will be prepared to sponsor a kennel at R5,000. A plaque bearing the sponsor's name will be placed on the sponsored kennel as a token of our gratitude and acknowledgement of the sponsorship. Please help us fo help our animals in distress.
