SAPS Ready for Overberg Festive Season
The Overberg Police Service is without any doubt ready for the Overberg Festive Season.
“The Owners of the Overberg Shopping Centre in Bredasdorp, the Amrichprop Group, have decided that considering the substantial growth experienced in the Overberg region during the past few years, the time is ideal to develop the directly adjacent vacant property, which it acquired some years ago,” said André Mouton, CEO Amrichprop Real Estate Group, Tyger Valley. André referred to the new building site in process in Bredasdorp. He told the Gans-Berg News that the construction was commenced in April 2024, with completion expected by November 2024.
An interesting fact mentioned by André is that this is an Extension Project, designed by Axion Architects, to link visually and operationally with the Existing Overberg Centre - with a ‘vehicle ramp’ connecting the new parking area with the existing parking area; and stairs, as well as a ‘disabled access ramp’ providing comfortable access for pedestrians. “Considering the new New Extension’s superb line-of-sight visibility, excellent exposure directly adjacent to a very prominent traffic intersection,” André said. “The Owners believe that the Extension offers prime Retail space.
In terms of size, the Extension Project offers approximately 2,400m2 of Gross Lettable Area, with the Owners expecting ±80% of this space to be tenanted by prominent National Tenants. Full details of this will be announced closer to the completion of construction work in November 2024. André said whilst some of the shops might already be open for trading in December 2024, it is expected that most New Tenants will only be able to complete their shopfitting by February/March 2025, whereafter the full New Extension will be open for trade.
Unfortunately, the names of the specific shop owners cannot be published at this point as all contracts first have to be finalised. Be on the lookout for our December editions for updated information.
